About Karen Cinnamon, Founder of Smashing The Glass

Hello, I’m Karen Cinnamon — the world’s #1 Jewish wedding expert, founder of Smashing The Glass, and creator of the Jewish Joy Method™.

Smashing The Glass is the world’s biggest Jewish wedding platform, and has been inspiring Jewish and Jew-ish couples to create weddings that are completely, beautifully, unapologetically theirs since 2013. From real Jewish weddings and interfaith celebrations to expert advice, vendor directories and our beloved Brides Club membership — everything here is designed to help you plan a day that truly reflects who you are.

It all started with my own wedding in 2013. I was a style-obsessed bride-to-be who couldn’t find a single place that brought together creative, modern ideas for Jewish couples who wanted their day to feel personal — not prescribed. So I built it myself.

Smashing The Glass was born — and hasn’t stopped growing since.

Of course, we all love certain traditions — they’re wonderful and can really enrich the experience — but contemporary couples don’t necessarily want their weddings entirely dictated by them. The most important element is to make their day completely personal, and carve their individuality into every detail. It has to mean something.

Do have a look around and explore our creative, innovative content — from the best real Jewish wedding and interfaith Jewish wedding eye candy, to expert advice and access to the most desirable wedding vendors.

Beyond the wedding world

In 2020, I launched @yourjewishlife — an Instagram community now followed by 375,000 people — built by saying out loud what Jewish women were already thinking but hadn’t seen reflected back at them. After October 7th, it became one of the most important spaces for Jewish pride, joy and resilience online.

That journey led me to create the Jewish Joy Method™ — a simple daily practice rooted in 3,000 years of Jewish wisdom and backed by modern science, designed to help Jewish women go from overwhelmed and disconnected to their happiest, calmest, most proudly Jewish selves.

The tools that bring that method to life — the bestselling Jewish Joy Journal™, the Positive Jewish Affirmations card deck and more — live at my latest love letter to the Jewish world: Luxe Jewish Life at luxejewishlife.com.

Recognition

My work has been featured in the New York Times, the BBC, Mail Online and BBC World News. I’ve been named one of the Jewish 100 — the top 100 most influential Jews in the world. And I’ve been dubbed the “Oprah of Jewish Joy”. Not my words. But I’ll take it. 😉
